hi!
hey my name is oggy im new here... i've been trying to follow lucidology 101 and i purchased 102 but i haven't been able to have any kind of obe or lucid dream yet... i've been really close a few times but no vibrations or anything... i do however get the heavy feeling of a lead blanket coming up from my feet, which i assume is the sleep paralysis. however im not really paralyzed. i can get up just like normal should i decide to move.

also i've seen blackness swirling but no colors...

i dont keep a dream journal but if i remember my dreams i usually remember them pretty well...

i have a crazy work schedule so i can't synchronize my sleep schedule to the sun like he suggests in lucidology 102 but i am going to try the timer method he describes in 101 tonight (tomorrow morning) after i get off work at 10pm.

if you would like to offer advise i would gladly take it, otherwise im just saying hi and letting ya'll know where im at in a metaphysical sense.

RE: hi!
Hi Oggy

I love the swirling blackness, it makes me want to let go and follow.

My body often aches and twitched so I can't relax to obe.

I've got 101 and 102 and even the first to installments of 103 and I would love to keep up with what you do and what you experience and any dreams you want to share.

You will probably inspire me to try again Oggy.

RE: hi!
i've tried the last couple nights to so the timer method in the morning... the only way i could think to get the timer to work, without me having to do anything, was to bring my fiance's laptop into the bedroom and set the timer up so that the first one is roughly about 360 minutes from when we go to bed... thats about 6 hours. 6 hours is usually enough sleep for me just cuz ive learned to live w/o a lot of sleep... but usually after the 3rd or 4th beep i get annoyed w it and turn it off! its horrible i know but im just tired and want to sleep...

i didnt realize 103 was even out yet... where at?

RE: hi!
Hi Oggy

What works for me is people. When someone will chat with me on-line that's when I get great dreams.

For example, windgods chatted with me last night through Saltcube and put three links in his post. It really got me focussed and I had a exquisite dream where I was a penguin. I posted it on Saltcube.

It is 10:57 pm and I am in bed poking at this HTC mobile phone keyboard. When I post this to you on Planar Portals I am going to sleep.

Let me know how you get on Oggy and I will let you know how I get on.

It is 11:01 pm night-night

If I want to have long lucid experiences guaranteed, I sleep until I would usually get up, but continue to sleep instead, up to 12 hours total including normal sleeping time. At first it may be difficult to fall asleep again, but then I fall into a state somewhere between sleeping and waking that allows me to become and stay aware much easier. In order to lucid dream, you shouldn't be tired... the same applies for astral projection and meditation in general.

One of the most important aspects is the resolution to become lucid or - for the advanced - an absolute certainty about lucidity setting in. This will not work for beginners, because there is too much doubt. Beginners first need auxiliary techniques and results to convince themselves. Consider all methods and rituals you may stumble upon as such, just helping you to persuade yourself. Once you have acquired a firm conviction, it all won't be needed anymore. I guess this could indeed be called an universal principle. But even the firmest conviction may need to be reclaimed betimes. Never doubt, never try, never exercise, only do.
